RocksKool is where Kool Kids from Brighton and the surrounding area get the chance to create their own band and play regular gigs. If you've always wanted to perform as a musician by singing or playing guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or other instruments this is the place to start.

You don't need to be a certain age to join RockSkool. Our youngest peformers start aged about six and our seniors go all the way up to fifty-something.

You don't need experience to join RockSkool. Many of our best performers had never played an instrument or sung in public before they joined us.

You don't need to be able to read music to join RocksKool. You'll start by playing and learning about all the important stuff like keys, pitches, chords and tablature as you go.

All our teachers are skilled musicians, often people who've spent many years in the business as performers themselves. They share your dream and work with you so you learn the skills to make it come true.

At your first lesson you can bring along a CD with songs you want to learn or simply have a chat with the teacher about what you like and they'll help you find something to begin with.

Then you both work together on the chosen songs. Starting with the basics you progress as fast as you are able to learn, the more you practice the faster you progress to joining a band or performing solo.

At the end of every term there are two big gigs for everyone in RocksKool to perform. The first one is for under-18s only and then a public one where everybody can come to see you.

Sometimes it takes a little while to get the courage to perform on stage, and that's OK too. You can just come to the gigs to see everyone else before you actually get up on stage yourself.
